Weezer Poster Review

Rock and The King

"Weezer has been around since 1992, but they haven't been an A-list band long enough to have created a big portfolio of rock posters. A posse costs big money and a rock poster portfolio takes time to pay off. Nonetheless, Weezer is producing some excellent artwork. The band's cover art has typically featured the group standing or walking together - nothing exciting there. However, the photo collage of Weezer playing live makes an excellent poster. Those that prefer the ironic sensibilities of Rivers Cuomo will insist upon the cartoon poster of superheros relaxing at home."

"I'll admit that I didn't give Weezer much consideration before the realease of their fifth CD Make Believe was released in 2005. Yes, I dug the smooth, satiric rant of Beverly Hills, but the other tracks on Make Believe really caught my attention. If there is such a genre, Weezer crossed into mainstream alternative rock or what I like to call Alt Pop. With this music evolution, Weezer posters are refreshing. Like their leader, Rivers Cuomo, their artwork doesn't take themselves or their music too seriously. After all, who else would risk missing the receipt of a Grammy award just because of school the next morning? As a side note to rock poster collectors, if Rivers leaves the band following his upcoming graduation from Harvard, it would mark the end of Weezer."
