"I'll admit that I didn't give Weezer much
consideration before the realease of their fifth CD
Make Believe was released in 2005. Yes, I dug the
smooth, satiric rant of Beverly Hills, but the other
tracks on Make Believe really caught my attention.
If there is such a genre, Weezer crossed into mainstream
alternative rock or what I like to call Alt Pop. With
this music evolution, Weezer posters are refreshing.
Like their leader, Rivers Cuomo, their artwork doesn't
take themselves or their music too seriously. After
all, who else would risk missing the receipt of a
Grammy award just because of school the next morning?
As a side note to rock poster collectors, if Rivers
leaves the band following his upcoming graduation
from Harvard, it would mark the end of Weezer." |
